Climate Resilient Garden Design

Spaces designed for beauty, abundance, resilience -  and for you.

How We Can Work Together

Every garden is unique, so I offer flexible design paths to match your lifestyle and goals. Whether you want a roadmap for DIY installation or full support from vision to completion, you’ll find a process rooted in clarity, creativity, and collaboration.

  • 1. Book a Discovery Call

Every project begins with a conversation.

In this complimentary 15-minute call, we’ll discuss your goals, priorities, and how you envision using your space. I’ll walk you through my design process, answer questions, and help determine whether we’re a good fit and which level of design support makes the most sense.

  • 2. Site Study

We begin with a detailed walk-through and conversation about how your household uses the space. I study sun and shade patterns, soil conditions, drainage, microclimates, and existing features, and take detailed measurements.

You’ll receive a written site study summary capturing key observations, opportunities, and constraints. This step establishes a clear foundation for all design decisions moving forward.

  • 3. Concept Map

The concept map explores the overall structure of the garden. I’ll create layout options that show how zones connect, where paths lead, and how the space functions day to day.

This phase may include early 3D views to help visualize scale and relationships. We’ll also schedule a dedicated review meeting to discuss the concept, gather feedback, and refine the direction before moving into detailed design.

  • 4. Final Design Delivery

The final design package brings everything together into a clear, buildable plan. It includes:
    - A curated plant palette tailored to your site, style, and maintenance preferences
    - A scaled planting plan showing placement and quantities
    - 3D renderings to help you fully visualize the space
    - MP4 walkthroughs that guide you through the design
    - Phased implementation guidance so the garden can be built over time

  • 5. Installation Support (Optional)

For clients who want additional guidance during installation, I offer design oversight and coordination support. This may include plant sourcing, collaboration with trusted local contractors, and on-site guidance to ensure the design is executed as intended.

Installation labor and materials are handled separately, allowing you to choose the level of involvement that best fits your project.

 Frequently Asked Questions

  • Yes! I’m a design-only studio, and many of my clients choose to DIY their gardens and installations. My role is to create a clear, tailored plan that guides you with confidence. If you’re looking for something lighter - like advice or brainstorming rather than a full design - please visit my consultations page.

  • Pricing depends on the number of zones (outdoor rooms), the size of your space, the level of problem-solving needed, and your budget. As a general guide, design fees often fall around 10–20% of the total project cost. We’ll discuss a clear estimate during your free discovery call.

  • Yes! While I specialize in Houston gardens, I do travel for projects and require at least one in-person site visit to properly design your space. I love learning about new climates and ecoregions, and discovering the native plants that make each place unique.

  • No—I focus exclusively on the design process. However, I collaborate with and refer to trusted local landscape contractors in the Houston area to bring your design to life.
