HOUSTON, TEXAS

A Westbury Family Garden

A Westbury property beneath two established live oaks, with a gravel patio in need of reworking and a family that wanted a retreat for kids and adults alike. The design runs as one continuous garden rather than four spaces stitched together: a front courtyard with bistro seating and a small bubbling fountain, a flagstone dining patio beside a trough fountain, a productive side yard of cedar raised beds and herbs, and a pergola draped in Peggy Martin roses at the edge of the lawn. Mediterranean in restraint, Texas in substance.
