Working Together

Every garden I design begins with a conversation — and every conversation begins with understanding what you actually need. Whether you're ready for a full design or just want a professional set of eyes on your space, there's a path for you here.

THE DESIGN PROCESS

How a full design unfolds

Unhurried, collaborative, and rooted in place.

Intake & intro call

You fill out the form below and I review your project. If it feels like a good fit, I'll reach out to schedule a short intro call — no calendar link, no automated booking. Just a real conversation to make sure we're aligned before anything begins.

Site study

I visit your space in person. I study sun and shade patterns, soil, drainage, microclimates, and existing features — and listen carefully to how your household actually uses the space. You'll receive a written summary capturing what I found and where the design opportunities live.

Concept map

A hand-drawn exploration of the overall structure — zones, paths, flow, and function. We review together, gather your feedback, and refine the direction before moving into detailed design.

Final design delivery

A complete, buildable package: curated plant palette, scaled planting plan, 3D renderings, and an MP4 walkthrough guiding you through the finished design. Phased so you can build over time, not all at once.

Design projects are taken on in cohorts — a limited number of projects per season.

This is intentional. It's how the work stays unhurried and the designs stay personal. If you're inquiring now, expect a timeline of several months from intake to delivery. I'll be transparent about the current window when we connect.

 Frequently Asked Questions

  • Yes! I’m a design-only studio, and many of my clients choose to DIY their gardens and installations. My role is to create a clear, tailored plan that guides you with confidence. If you’re looking for something lighter - like advice or brainstorming rather than a full design - please visit my consultations page.

  • Pricing depends on the number of zones (outdoor rooms), the size of your space, the level of problem-solving needed, and your budget. As a general guide, design fees often fall around 10–20% of the total project cost. We’ll discuss a clear estimate during your free discovery call.

Yes, that's a really important point to include — phasing is actually a huge value-add that makes larger project budgets feel accessible. Here's a revised version:

Most projects I work with have a total implementation budget of $15,000 or more — and one of the things I specialize in is designing in phases, so you can build your garden over time rather than all at once.

If you're earlier in your planning or working with a smaller initial budget, a Garden Consultation may be a better place to start.

  • While I specialize in Houston gardens, I do travel for projects and require at least one in-person site visit to properly design your space. I love learning about new climates and ecoregions, and discovering the native plants that make each place unique.

  • No—I focus exclusively on the design process. However, I collaborate with and refer to trusted local landscape contractors in the Houston area to bring your design to life.
